Today the current threat is unpredictable yet ever so present. Unpredictable in the sense that unlike many years ago our enemies used just a few tactics. With the use of the Internet and social media tactics are shared internationally within seconds. As with the Boston Marathon Bombers they read a transcript from overseas explaining “how to build a bomb in the kitchen of your mom”. Recent there were some writings that explained the benefits of kidnapping and promoted it’s effectiveness with the psychological impact. There have been propaganda promoting the use of suvs to attack large crowds and the ability of any sympathizer to grab a knife and attack citizens on U.S. soil. The only way to defeat such an enemy is by sharpening our observation skills and to identify the anomalies if it is a threat or no threat. The faster we can identify the incident as a terrorist or innocent the fastest usually wins.
